My heart is beating so wildly in my chest, so quick and strange, and all I can feel is you…
You’re inside of my head, reading my every blurred thought, inside of my body, watching my heartbeat spur out of control…
And I can’t think of anything but you…
Everywhere.
Nowhere.
A ghost whispering across the edges of my mind, refusing to fade…
You move away then, stealing my breath as you do so, looking down at me with those terrifying and beautiful eyes.
I decide not to meet your entrancing gaze, instead settling my eyes on your up-turned lips, glaring at the soft smile I see there.
“H-Hey, you bastard. Who the hell do you think you are?”
I curse the tremor I hear in my voice, trying so hard not to look up into those eyes.
I hear you laugh.
“Don’t laugh at me, teme. I don’t know who the fuck you are but I’m gonna-“
“Ai, ai. Relax, Naruto”
Hearing you say my name makes me pause, glancing up to meet your gaze.
And, before I can lose myself again, I look back down.
“Don’t call me by name”
I feel you watching me.
Smiling.
Amused by my weakness.
“What is the point in you giving me your name if I’m not allowed to use it?”
“That was an accident. You’re not supposed to know”
You raise a slender brow, tilting your head to the side.
“An accident?”
“Yes, an accident!”
You smirk and I shift backwards on the couch, glaring up into those strange and beautiful black eyes.
“You are afraid”
Your voice is calm, soft and steady.
I feel myself shivering, suddenly unable to tear my gaze away from you.
I want to run.
Race away into the sheets of rain I hear outside,
Hide in the shadowy breaths of winter.
But I can’t move.
And I’m not even sure if I’m breathing and all I can do is wish you’d look away.
You tilt your chin up slightly, exposing the elegant line of that smooth alabaster neck, teasing me with your strange and perfect beauty.
And it’s terrifying because I feel that powerful urge to kiss you again and it’s so hard to hold myself back, so hard to stay where I am…
You’re laughing again.
“You react even more intensely to it than others. Very interesting, Naruto”
I can only watch you, wide-eyed, so afraid of my sudden helplessness.
“It should wear down some. You’ll get used to it later, sweet”
I tremble at the silken sound of your voice, closing my eyes as you trace those icy fingertips lightly down my cheek.
Why can’t I pull away?
