Ah Max Payne. I loved that game way back in the day when life was simpler. I love the film noir style, and you're pulling this off magnificently. Keep up the good work. I hope to read the next chapter soon. :)

I'm glad you like the story, but I don't have the time to continue it right now. I play along as I write, to get the details and dialogue down- which makes this quite a time-consuming venture. I won't be getting back to work on this for at least a while, but I'm not abandoning it. If you would wait for a while, it will be great.

Author's Response: I understand, as I have considered the same question. On the other hand, I would not like to create OOC situations within the story, so I would not be doing that. Instead, the style department will be handled by other characters I will include in the story (the only one I'll give away at this moment will be Naruto). Sorry if this is a disappointment to you.

As I have said before to other reviewers, this story will not be a direct adaptation of DMC, though it does have major influences from the game. It is possible that the story will deviate stylistically from DMC, however, due to other significant influences.

Even though you've kept pretty much to the script thus far (not that there's much room to elaborate for the moment) I think you've done the story justice. Excellent work :)

Author's Response: Thanks. I'll be faithful to the original story since it's so good. As I said in the author's notes, I'm playing the game along (on Hard Boiled difficulty- I need to pause and save a lot, so I can't play on DOA difficulty) as I write this, so it'll take some time for the next few chapters. Besides, school's about to start for me, so it may be some time before I update again. I need some help on who should be who in the story, too... I'm kinda confused on who should be Jack Lupino and Vinnie Gognitti. Currently, it'll be Hidan and Kankuro in those roles respectively, but I'm not so sure about that. I'm also not sure about who should be Nicole Horne (only if they'll tell us what the name of that blue-haired woman is...), who should be the Finito brothers, who should be Rico Muerte (hmm... maybe Choji's a good idea?), who should be Candy Dawn (the hooker), and who should be Mona Sax (either Ino or Hinata- but I think Ino's better for the role). Right now, I got Kakashi down for Alfred Woden, Kabuto for B.B., Ibiki for Frankie "The Bat" Niagara, Kisame for Vladimir Lem, and Deidara for Boris Dime. If you have any suggestions about the cast, I'm more than willing to hear you out.

i swear..you..are a master of action based fics.i know i couldn't have done better but hey,as soon as i'm done with a mere crush,i'm starting on my sound nin fic.which i know will get at least 40 reviews.oh and a found a list of the demon's forms of weapons in DMC.i mean the one's that dante/gaara can use.i'll give you another review on what their true forms look like.
1.agni & rudra(double swords-can join to form a staff-fire and wind)
2.nevan(guitar-summons bats-electricity)
3.beowulf(gauntlets and shin guards-hand to hand-light abilities)
4.cerberus(triple chained nunchukus-bladed at the end-icey attacks)
5.rebellion(his basic sword given from his father,sparda)

2.shotgun(widespread rifle-stronger at close range)
3.artemis(gun from the nether-realm-homing beams-multiplies when hit off of a wall)

Gaara won't be the only one fighting, so I have to give other characters their weapons, too (and Gaara won't be able to access all the weapons, although with the arsenal he acqires, I think it'll be more than enough). I'll try my best to figure out a good weapons list. I'll try to update soon, as well.

10000/10!! who's vergil? mary/lady? arkham? sparda? what are the demons? i just hope agni & rudra are in this.along with beowolf..

-- Swords_and_Bandages : This story won't be totally based on DMC. I've also drawn lots of inspiration from various other sources, such as Hellsing, Hellgate: London, Hellboy, and such. Gaara won't just be a direct translation of Dante. As for your questions... Sasuke will be a "sort of" Vergil figure in this story. Hinata will be like Mary/Lady. I haven't figured out who'd be in the Arkham role yet. The same goes to Sparda. There will be a large variety of demons and other enemies. I don't know about Agni and Rudra, but I do plan to have something that's like Beowulf in the story. Thanks for reading!
