Summary: A story written over the course of at least half a decade! rnrnMaia Nishikawa is found in a Leaf Village clearing without any memories or knowledge of her identity. Her search for answers as a Chuunin brings her to Kabuto, her confused and searching fraternal twin, and through an odd stroke of fate, into a secret alliance with Itachi Uchiha, with the knowledge of the massacre. rnrnBook 2- Living a life of secrets and lies, searching desperately for the answers to the mystery of who she is, Maia's alliance is found out by the Leaf. Her search then leads her into a year and a half as a rogue, as Itachi's hostage because he cannot kill her. Their extended time together leads feelings much stronger than friendship to come out. Though bittersweet and sometimes traumatic, Maia sacrifices her sanity to accompany her friend and lover in his final years. rnrnBook 3- After Itachi's heartbreaking death, Maia retreats from the world that caused her so much pain and trauma in order to discover the truth of her past. She returns to the world as her true self to stop her evil twin Kabuto from causing more pain, knocks some sense into Sasuke, and helps her former comrades and former fiance to fight Obito, the man who was in her mind all along. Once again, she becomes a Leaf Ninja.rnrnThis story has both KakaOC and ItaOC lemons (skippable) in different books.
