What Do Those Words Mean?, Chapter 1, Chat Room!

It was a cold Sunday November afternoon, with the rain pouring down on the streets of Konoha. As the raindrops hit hard against her window, Sakura became bored after finishing her homework for physics class. She opened the lid to her laptop and switched it on. As she waited for it to load up she thought of what she was going to do. When her laptop was fully loaded she decided to go in a chat room. When she entered, without knowing anyone in there she decided to start a conversation.

[sakura_flower]: hi everyone!
[sasuke_khlv]: hi!
[Fate]: hi
[sakura_flower]: how is everyone?
[Fate]: fine, and you?
[sasuke_khlv]: good and u?
[sakura_flower]: cool. I’m good thanks

Sakura was glad that she had a conversation going on now, and decided it was time to ask what they like. As they were in an anime chat room she decided to ask…

[sakura_flower]: so what anime’s and manga’s do you guys like?
[Fate]: when you say manga? Do you mean the comics or the manga anime’s?
[sakura_flower]: I mean the comics
[Fate]: THEY ARENT CALLED MANGA’S, MANGA IS A NAME OF A COMPANY THAT MAKE ANIMES!
[sakura_flower]: erm… ook
[sasuke_khlv]: I like Akira but I'm mostly in to Hentai
[sakura_flower]: don’t you find Hentai a bit over the top, like over exaggerated?
[sasuke_khlv]: yeah sometimes

After this she didn’t know what else to say as other people started to join in the conversation after awhile she just read what people were saying and not speaking. And then an argument started. Everyone was ganging up on [sasuke_khlv], Sakura thought that it was unfair for all of them to gang up on him, she was going to help him out.

[sakura_flower]: hey guys. Why are you ganging up on Sasuke?

Sakura waited for a while before she got all the people who were arguing with sasuke_khlv arguing with her, she just ignored it as she started looking for another chat room to go in to. When a private chat box came up from [sasuke_khlv] popped up.

[sasuke_khlv]: thanks for helping me back there
[sakura_flower]: don’t worry about it
[sasuke_khlv]: asl?
[sakura_flower]: i’m 16, female, Konoha village, you?
[sasuke_khlv]: wow, 16/male/ Konoha

Sakura got really excited, this guy was the same age as her and he lived in Konoha! Maybe she knew him but she was about to find out.

[sasuke_khlv]: so I take it ur in year 11? (A/N: in England we have years not grades)
[sakura_flower]: yep! Heehee what school do you go to?
[sasuke_khlv]: Konoha leaf secondary school, u?
[sakura_flower]: OMG me too!!!
[sakura_flower]: XD
[sakura_flower]: Haruno Sakura, and I bet your Uchiha Sasuke?
[sasuke_khlv]: yep
[sakura_flower]: COOL! I don’t think I’ve ever spoken to you before at school
[sasuke_khlv]: I cant remember u, what do u look like?
[sakura_flower]: I have pink long hair and green eyes, there is a picture of me on the school news website!

Sakura couldn’t believe how lucky she was to meet him in a random chat room, maybe it was fate. She wasn’t doing too well at school with friends, people picked on her because of the size of her forehead. She still had Naruto, Hinata and Shikamaru as friends but she hardly saw Hinata and Naruto now, since they started going out, they went off doing there own thing most of the time.

Five hours later and Sakura was still talking to Sasuke online. They were laughing and joking about stuff. Sakura hadn’t had this much fun in ages.

[sasuke_khlv]: ur so pretty
[sakura_flower]: awww thank you
[sasuke_khlv]: I love u
[sakura_flower]: what???
[sasuke_khlv]: I love u
[sakura_flower]: what do you mean? More than a friend?

Sakura began to panic as this conversation went on, she didn’t like where it was heading. How could he say that only after 5 hours of talking to her?

[sasuke_khlv]: more than a friend, do u love me?

Sakura was shocked, how could he? He hardly knows her!

[sakura_flower]: yeah only as a friend tho… how can you love me more than a friend you hardly know me?
[sasuke_khlv]: well what u did for me earlier was the first time anyone has done something for me like that
[sakura_flower]: is that the only reason? But ive only been talking to you for 5 hours. how can you love me? You hardly know me.
[sasuke_khlv]: I know enough to love u.
[sasuke_khlv]: come on ask me anything? Get to know me better

Sakura thought for a while and asked a few questions before he asked:

[sasuke_khlv]: do u love me yet?
[sakura_flower]: yeah only as a friend tho
[sasuke_khlv]: :*( ask me anything you want? Anything that will make u fall in love with me?

This carried on for a while but Sakura always answered him with the same answer. “Only as a friend.” She kept telling him but he wouldn’t give up.

He then started a conversation about his ex and best friend, Ino. Sakura disliked Ino because the way she would always put her down in the classes that she had with her. Making comments about her forehead and laughing at her. Even though Sakura didn’t have feelings for Sasuke in that way she still was glad that he wasn’t going out with Ino anymore. After the conversation about Ino aka [sweet as fuck], he asked her again.

[sasuke_khlv]: do u love me yet?
[sakura_flower]: yeah but still just as a friend, well I better go we have school in the morning. Night night xxx
[sasuke_khlv]: night babe xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Sakura_flower appears offline.

As Sakura got dressed in her nightgown she thought about her conversation with Sasuke. Why did he love her? In her view he was playing a trick on her, if she just said that she loved him then he maybe will just turn around and laugh in her face telling her that it was a huge joke.

Ever since her last relationship, she found it hard to trust people especially men. This whole thing was confusing her. How can she believe him, she can't, this is the first time she has spoken to him. After 2 hours of thinking about her situation she fell asleep but it still haunted her in her dreams.

What Do Those Words Mean? Chapter 2 : Next Day

The sun was covered by the clouds that morning, bad weather was coming and on the day of Halloween, maybe the kids will not be able to go trick or treating like they do every year. Sakura walked through the doors of her school that were decorated ready for the Halloween ball that would take place there tonight for the younger years of the school.

As she walked through the corridors with her head down, she thought about if she would see him today? How would she act face to face with him? What would he say to her?

Sakura looked up when she reached her form room, She opened the door and walked in. As she got closer to her seat, Ino shouted “Good morning, Ugly Forehead girl!” Ino’s friends laughed with her. Sakura ignored her and sat down with her friends.

“Good morning Sakura-chan!” Naruto said cheerfully, with his girlfriend, Hinata sitting next to him. Who gave a little wave to Sakura.

“Hi!” Sakura greeted back. She looked around the class room before asking “Where’s Shikamaru?”

“Oh I think he was asked to go see Mr. Asuma because he fell asleep again in his class on Friday.” Hinata replied in her sweet voice.

As they sat there chatting, five minutes till the bell goes to indicate the start of school, Shikamaru walked in with his hands in his pockets as usual. When he had reached his table he realized that someone had nicked his chair. He sighed “How troublesome” before sitting on the table.

“What did Mr. Asuma say to you for sleeping in class Shikamaru?” Sakura asked him. Shikamaru became her best friend over the years. They became friends when he was best friends with Ino and she was picking on Sakura. He stuck up for her.

“Not a lot” He sighed again, “He just told me not to do it again” He said then yawned right before the bell went.

Mr. Hatake Kakashi walked in and asked them all to take their seats.

Lunchtime

“HE said that to you?” Shikamaru asked a little louder than his normal voice volume. As he and Sakura walked around the cafeteria looking for a table to sit at, with trays in their hands.

“Yes…But I think its just one big joke. Maybe a bet… I don’t know?” Sakura said as she sat down, placing her tray on the table. “I mean Sasuke is the most popular boy in school and he said that he loved me on the first day of talking to me.”

Suddenly a loud a scream came from the other side of the cafeteria as a girl shouted “WOO SASUKE BABY!”

Sakura turned around to see what all the commotion was about but turned around to see Sasuke walking up to her. He stopped and looked at her. “Wow, your prettier in real life than in the picture!” He exclaimed with his hands in his pockets. He pulled one hand out of his pockets and held it out to take her hand. “Can we go somewhere where we can talk?”

Sakura looked up at him nervously but took his hand and followed him out the cafeteria and through to the unoccupied corridors. He suddenly stopped and let go of her hand.

“So how are you?” She asked. Feeling a bit uneasy being alone with someone she hardly knew.

“I’m ok and you?” Sasuke asked, turning to face her. They were talking like they were online to each other.

“I’m good thanks.” She replied and waited for him to say what he wanted to say to her. But he didn’t say anything, she just looked at his face silently, waiting.

Sasuke opened his mouth to say something but then stopped, re-thinking his words. Sakura watched in curiosity. What on earth did he want from her? The only thing she could think of was that she was apart of one of Sasuke and his mates bets. What would one of the coolest guys in her year want with someone like her?

“Sakura, I really like you. Would you like to go on a date with me?’ Sasuke asked as he looked in to her eyes, but realized that she wasn’t listening. He grabbed her arm and gave it a little shake.

Sakura, lost in her own thoughts felt someone grab her arm and she came back to reality in surprise. “Huh? What is it?” Sakura asked quickly feeling a little foolish.

Sasuke smirked at her before repeating himself. “Would you like to go on a date with me?”

Sakura looked at him in horror. ‘This is all just a big bet!’ Sakura thought to herself. She felt a bit angry that he was playing with her, but she wasn’t going to be nasty to him. Sasuke took a step towards her. Felling uncomfortable of the closeness, Sakura took a step back.

“I’m sorry. But I don’t think you’re my type.” Sakura said politely. She gave a small bow before turning round and walking away.

Sasuke smirked at her retreating figure. Its funny how life works out sometimes. There, in front of him, a girl that he actually thought was cute was walking away from him after declining a date…with him! The first girl to say “No” to him. He liked her even more now! She was a challenge and he liked challenges. There, he was last night trying to get her to love him and he can’t even get her to go on a date with him. ’Hmm…Funny!’ He thought to himself before walking back in to the cafeteria with a smirk on his face.

Sakura and Shikamaru ran through the busy hallways. It was five minute break in between classes and Sakura and Shikamaru had to go talk to Mr. Hatake about their English homework before next class began.

“I think we are going to be late for our next class” Shikamaru said through heavy breath, pushing passed people in the hall.

Sakura turned her head towards Shikamaru. “Yeah probably!” She said. Sakura looked back in front of her and saw a locker door. She had no chance to stop, she was too close to it to stop.

BANG!

Sakura lay on the floor, with her legs spread apart. She opened her eyes to find Sasuke bent down over her. Her head felt like it was spinning, but when she looked into Sasuke’s eyes, the pain seemed to ease.

“Are you okay?” Sasuke asked her, looking in to her eyes. Sakura couldn’t reply. She just looked at him, speechless.

Sakura could hear people laughing at her. Was it really that funny? All the sudden she felt a draft… down there. She looked down to find her skirt up passed her knickers. Sakura quickly sat up to cover up her knickers but in the process, hit her head on Sasuke’s forehead. Both groaned holding their foreheads.

“Sakura, are you okay?!” Shikamaru asked, giving her a hand getting up. Sakura lent against the lockers to give herself support. The corridor was spinning to her and there were three of everyone. She slipped down the locker as she found it hard to keep standing.

Sasuke grabbed her by the arm before she fell to the floor and placed her arm around his shoulder. “I’ll take her to the medical room, you go to wherever you were rushing off too.” Sasuke said to Shikamaru before turning and walking the other way down the corridor. Shikamaru just nodded and carried on running, trying to make it in time to see Mr.Hatake.

Medical Room

Sasuke sat Sakura down on a white sheeted bed while Shizune attended to another patient. “Shizune will sort us out.” He said as he looked at her red sore forehead. Sasuke pushed her hair bangs aside and placed a gentle kiss on her forehead. “There! All better!” He teased while sitting himself on the bed.

Sakura gave him a smile in return and started laughing at him. Sasuke looked at her in confusion. “What’s funny?” He asked the hysteric girl next to him on the bed.

“Your forehead …is bright red!” Sakura giggled. When Sasuke heard this, he burst out laughing.

“You should look at yourself.” He said through laughter as he pointed to her forehead. Sakura stopped laughing and looked at her reflection in the glass window. He was right, her forehead was bright red. Sakura blushed in embarrassment.

Shizune looked at them in annoyance and told them to be quieter. Sasuke covered his mouth with his hand to silence his laughter. After a while they fell silent.

Sakura hated silence, it made her think about things that she didn’t want to think about. She started thinking about what Sasuke had asked her earlier. ‘Would you like to go on a date with me?’ Sakura could hear Sasuke’s question repeating over and over in her head. ‘Maybe he isn’t all that bad? He seems nice. Maybe a date with him isn’t such a bad idea? Or maybe not. I heard he is in a gang though. I bet this whole thing between him and me is a joke! But I guess I shouldn’t judge him by the way he looks. Like my mother says “You should never judge a book by its cover.”’

Sakura turned her head and looked at him. He was looking at what Shizune was doing to another patient. Sasuke felt eyes on him and looked at Sakura to find her staring at him. “What?” He asked, shrugging his shoulders.

Sakura turned away from him hiding her blush with her hair. “Erm…I think…” Sakura looked up at him again with a small smile on her face. “I think I will take your offer of that date.” She said shyly but gave him a big smile at the end of her sentence to hide her shyness.

Sasuke smiled back at her and grabbed her hand and held it in his. “Cool” Was all Sasuke said.

‘Is this really the same Sasuke that I knew 3 days ago?’ Sakura asked her mind. ‘It seems that this book has a completely different plot line inside than the blurb says.’

After both of them got treated by Shizune, Sasuke walked Sakura to her next class, hand-in-hand. They stopped outside of Sakura’s science classroom, still holding hands.

“So where shall I pick you up tonight?” Sasuke asked, giving her hand a little squeeze.

“To-tonight? Aren‘t you going trick or treating with your friends?” Sakura stuttered. She didn’t know that it would be so soon.

“Trick or treating?” Sasuke asked with a raised eyebrow then he smiled at her. “That’s kids stuff.” He said, she could hear the amusement in his voice.

“Oh…Erm… How about you pick me up at the cinema?” She asked.

“Awesome! Ok then, I’ll see you at eight at the cinema.” He gave her a peck on the cheek before letting go of her hand and running to his own class, leaving her shocked and blushing, watching him run down the corridor.

She felt dizzy again. Sakura took a deep breath before turning and entering her science classroom.
