"Hey Hinata!" said Naruto, walking up to the young Hyuga. "Are you going to try out for the school play?" Hinata gasped under her breath. She had almost forgot that the auditions for the school play were that day, just after school.
"Umm... probably," said Hinata, fidgeting her fingers, like normal. "I really don't think I'll get the part, but it'd be fun to play the part anyway."
"Well good luck then," said Naruto with a smile as he walked off. Hinata smiled and waved as the blond ninja walked away. Later that day, the auditions were held.
"Romeo, Romeo," said Ino in a singing voice. "Where for art thou, Romeo?" Tsunade, the director of the play, winced at her, as well as with Tenten and a few others.
"Next!" called Tsunade, hoping the next would be better than the last. Sakura walked up to the stage and took a small bow. She began her lines. When she was done, Tsunade thought it was the best yet.
"Great job, Sakura," said Tsunade. "I believe that was the last one..."
"Wait!" Hinata called as she burst through the door of the academy theater. "I'm here to audition for Juliet's part!" Hinata huffed, as Tsunade ushered Hinata onto the stage.
"Romeo, Romeo, where for art thou, Romeo?" started Hinata after her huffing fit was over. "Deny thy father and refuse thy name..."
"Hinata, that was... it was..." Tsunade began.
Hinata hesitated. "Horrible?" she said. "Bad? Unbearable?" Her eyes swelled up with tears, but she quickly wiped them as Tsunade replied.
"No! It was... beautiful," she said. "Hinata, I've found my Juliet. Do you want the part?" Hinata nodded fast as she walked to the front of the stage and took a slight bow.
"Thank you! I will take the part... thank you again!" Hinata's eyes swelled up again, as she hoped that Naruto would get the part of Romeo. Then, she might finally get her kiss she had been wanting for so long...
She walked off the stage as the Romeos began their parts. At lunch the next day, the bulletin board was swamped with people looking to see if they got the parts in the play. Also, many people walked away disappointedly. As she expected, her name was next to Juliet. But she was very surprised to find out who she would have to share her very first kiss with...
