I can't believe Kakashi! I'm totally with Naruto! I can't believe Kakashi's such a gossip... oh well, sucks for Naruto and Kiba, right?

Somehow... Naruto seemed more innocent than this story portrays him... he's just too good at sex for his own good! (and we don't even need to start about Kiba...)

On a tangent... I was reading your response... and I remember Mark. It was my FIRST ever Shino x Kiba fic... (yeah!) and that's how I fell in love with Kiba and (eventually) the pairing.

I distinctly remember closing the page and jumping out of my chair when it got to the heavier smut part... freaked my parents out almost as badly as I was freaked out (I was a yaoi fan at the time, but had only -just- gotten into fanfiction and, well, had previously only read light fluff).

So yeah... just had to comment on that. I'm glad other people have read and liked the Mark Series.

Smut was good, but heavier yaoi than I usually read, so I was kinda like... tomato-red and constantly checking over my shoulder to make sure no-one was there. Can't offer any advice, though, seeing as you obviously know way more than me.

Yes... so... you asked me to give you my opinion on your characterization of Neji (I'm highly flattered that you called me an "authority" on his personality... but I'm pretty sure even I make him OOC in many cases.) Either way...

Honesty. Right. I'll start of by saying:

There were moments of brilliance, where Neji was perfectly in character.

And then, there were moments when I felt he was being a bit too soft or considerate. I understand that he feels sorry for what he's done, but just one day after he finds out? I think it would have taken someone as set in his ways as Neji a bit longer than that to figure it all out and come to terms with it, and to act upon it.

Still, that aside, considering that he wants to atone, he was very in character. Personally, I would have made him a bit more reserved about it, doing it in more subtle ways, working up to an apology, but this also worked and was still in character.

Neji is subtle, but he's also strong-headed at times. I could see him tackling his atonement head-on.

Hm, before I go into more nit-picky stuff, let me tell you more of the good stuff...

Hinata! Very in character. And I liked the way you had her interact with Neji, etc. etc. Two thumbs up, and a few more if I had them (thankfully, though, I don't have more than two thumbs).

Writing style is very good. I enjoyed it a lot.

Also, the Hiashi x Neji interaction was well done. I like how they're formal with each other. However, here's where I get picky again...

I feel that they were too comfortable with each other. Remember that Neji's hated Hiashi since he was a kid and Hiashi probably isn't too comfy with Neji either, Neji being the son of his twin brother who died for him and all that. So things should be a bit stiff and forced with them, especially now, since Neji is fixing to apologize and Hiashi has revealed to him the truth after hiding it for countless years.

I think that's all. And please, don't pay too much mind to the little things I complained about. They are just that: little.

All things considered, it's a very good fic. I'm glad I read it.

Oh, eheh. I just went back and re-read the "contest" thing...

Um... I've written some pretty strange pairings: Hiashi x Neji (yeah... we won't go there), Asuma x Shikamaru, Shino x Kiba, and Neji x Shikamaru (the last two aren't that weird, but...)

I prefer Yaoi, but I support Yuri and it's probably about time I got over my slight inhibitions and wrote some. I pretty much refuse to write Het, though. Why? I have no eff'ing clue. Seeing as I'm a straight girl, het should be my favorite. But it's not. (Like I said, don't ask, I don't know).

Um... Good things about me? I'm incapable of writing a completely pwp story. Even if I write these random one-shot smut scenes for pairings, I'll probably at least think of a good story behind how the hell they ended up in a situation where they were having sex. That's always a plus, right?

Another good thing is I have a very openminded BETA who (I think) would be more than happy to BETA my contributions, despite whatever pairing they were... so that's a plus, too, right? Less typos?

Um, bad things are... uh... well, I guess there are probably lots. I'm not very experienced with smut. I mean, I only just started actually writing it where I didn't stop and say "It was a great night of sex" recently, so I'm still very rough around the edges. (but hopefully doing this will help me improve, right?). I also have a tendency to make stuff waaaay longer than it needs to be, so I don't know if people are willing to read something that's a lot of plot and just a little smut.

I guess you can sample my smut abilities, if you don't mind yaoi, by reading Innocence in a Bottle of Whiskey. That's got at least three or four sex scenes in it (though about ten other scenes with non-sex stuff).
