She didn’t think he was that kind of guy. Always gazing at the clouds and muttering his catchphrase, “So troublesome,” Shikamaru seemed like the type to go to sleep, not think about girls.
Sakura was in her exam study class. She was there for lessons on how to do well on her upcoming jounin exam. So, there was silence in the class, save for the scratching of pencils, but they were not forced to be quiet.
When Sakura felt a tap on her shoulder, she looked back to see an expressionless Shikamaru leaning over and holding out a folded note. She took it with quiet surprise and turned back to her desk to unfold it.
You’re smart, I’m smart, want to go out with me? Shikamaru
Sakura giggled with astonishment. She grabbed her pencil and quickly scribbled back.
Wow Shikamaru, never knew you had it in you. What made you do this? ^_^
Sakura threw the note behind her shoulder onto Shika’s desk and could feel the “so troublesome” vibes coming off of him.
The scrap of paper was quickly thrown back. She opened it.
Sakura, I really like you, and I want to know now if I’m getting rejected or not.
I’d love to go out with you! When?
After this class. To the coffee shop?
Looking forward to it.
Sakura finished the rest of the class with a smile.
