Chapter notes: Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto. The poem is mine.
I got inspired to write this after reading ch.9 of Kiba's Diary by TTM. It's pretty sad, and I won't spoil it for you. Check that story out if you like. In a way, this is a tribute to the Third Hokage and Asuma, as well.

---------------------------

A worthy toast to a hero this be,
Chains of sorrow broken, now free.
Carry his soul to the gate in the west,
Given life through an act of death.
His name burns upon his lover’s chest,
Now bearing grief’s tearstained crest.
His face lingers in memories of friends,
Imprinted there ‘til the moment time ends.
Raise your glass, and drink in his honor,
Let hope shine on a heart’s dark corner.
Light a cigar, and blow out a plume,
Let smoke pay tribute to Death’s bridegroom.
Rest in peace, friend, you shall live on,
In our hearts, even after you’re long gone.
