No-one knows what behind her smile
that smile that breaks her face in half
that crooked, dead, smile
the only thing she can contribute to this world
that she is able to hide that isn't okay
Hearts are fragile,
hearts can be broken
the slightest cut or misdirected hit could damage it
Hearts can be hidden
if not wanted to be seen
But hearts can't heal, unless you give them love
All she can do is smile
when they pick on her
when the trip her
when they kick dirt into her face
all she can do is smile
She can't cry
No showing the side that might break her
The side, that if shown,
would take all her resolve
Hearts are fragile
Hearts can be broken
the slightest cut or missdirected hit could dame it
Hearts can be hidden
if not wanted to be seen
But hearts can't heal, unless you give them love.
She will never be loved
Her heart will never heal
Because she is flower that never opened
Never opened for anyone, not even a nutrient
A person that could be her sun.
She watches from a distance
watching the popular girls be flirted with
watching the outcasts and druggies listen to their iPods
watching the in betweens, just standing and talking
then there was a whole new breed
and she was the only specimen
One who sat down against the wall with a thick book
closing out the rest of the world,
and not letting the sun in.
Hearts can be hidden
And she clearly doesn't want hers found.
