"This kind, this due degree,
Of blindness, weakness, heaven bestows on thee,
Submit."
John Pope
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Once upon a time,
There lived a genius and a caged bird,
One too many times,
Those eyes were clear and crystalline,
His heart turned to stone,
Although people tried to change him,
He always wound up alone.
Birds, arrows, seals,
Too many sorrows for him to count,
He would stare at the sky,
And let himself cry,
At the predicament he had let himself fall into to.
And even though he was not alone,
He still felt that way,
Nobody to protect him,
Nobody to hear his say.
Branch and Main,
are surely the same,
but to him they were not,
His father was killed,
His son's heart in a knot,
The child known as Neji fought for destiny.
But it changed when some sense dawned on him,
His eyes were shining once again,
He fought for teammates,
He fought for his nindo,
Yet still got beaten down in the end.
As he lays here on the cold Earth,
He remembers how,
All his friends were there for him although he didn't know,
Opening one eye one last time, he counts the birds overhead,
And smiles to himself and says, "My destiny has been said."
The birds took flight and left him,
And the only thing to describe him was:
Wa-Tara
That was.... kinda bad... sorry, Neji, I'll try to think of a better one!
