It is dark.
Moonlight threads across the floor, obscured by the lacy curtains.
It is like some sort of silvery spider web, fine and delicate.
Fragile.
There is silence.
Every unsteady breath that passes my lips seems to echo in this large room you have given to me.
It’s such a lonely sound, Sasuke.
Silken sheets fall from my shoulders as I sit up, slipping soundlessly out of the bed.
The smooth marble is cold against my skin, causing my breath to hitch.
I feel myself shiver as I step across the threads of moonlight spilled against the floor, chilled.
It’s so cold here.
So foreboding.
I drift silently through the hallways, a slight adrenaline building in my chest.
I feel as if I’m breaking the rules.
Strange how that’s such a thrill to me, isn’t it Sasuke?
I push open your door, pausing in the doorway.
You are sleeping soundlessly, laying flat against your back.
Your head is tilted slightly upwards, lips parted.
I take a tentative step into your room and wait.
Nothing happens.
Another step.
And another.
Still nothing.
Reassured, I close the distance between us, crawling carefully onto the mattress.
You mumble softly, turning your head towards me on the pillow.
I freeze, eyes widening.
Have you woken?
Silence.
I let a sigh breeze past my lips, calmed.
I shift a little closer, pausing to look over your face.
You look so ethereal in the moonlight.
Your skin is flawless, smooth and white.
I reach a hand out, brushing my fingertips against that porcelain flesh.
You make no sound.
I let my eyes trail over every perfect feature, resting my gaze upon those parted lips.
They are so full, tempting.
I hesitate for a moment, letting my lips hover over yours, aching to touch.
Should I?
Another minute ticks by.
I take a breath and move closer, pressing a slow kiss onto your lips.
I lift my lips from yours and suddenly I find myself staring into those depthless black eyes.
You watch me, motionless.
We stare at each other for a long time.
You have caught me, Sasuke.
What will you do?
You say nothing.
Do nothing.
And after a few more moments pass I shift, sliding slowly off of the bed.
You are so unreadable, Sasuke.
So emotionless.
I move soundlessly towards the door, closing it quietly behind me.
Perhaps I made a mistake in coming back here.
And as I walk slowly back to my room I sigh, hanging my head.
You don’t want me here, do you Sasuke?
