I watch you.
You glare for a moment longer before looking away, obsidian eyes blazing like an inky fire.
“Sasuke, let’s just-“
“Shut up, Naruto”
I falter, looking down.
You’re so cruel.
But even now…
As I glance up into your glinting black eyes, I know…
I know that I still love you.
“Fine. Leave us now, Shikamaru. And don’t follow us any longer”
“I follow Tsunade’s orders, not yours”
You glare at him again.
He stares solemnly back.
“I’m sorry, Sasuke”
“Whatever”
You take my hand, pulling me along behind you down the path to the village.
My heart leaps.
I run my thumb lightly down the side of your hand but you tense, unclasping your fingers from mine.
Cold runs through my veins and I sigh softly, returning my gaze to the floor.
Sasuke…
Will you let me love you?
As we walk down the icy path, grey clouds drifting lazily above us, I think I know.
You don’t love me...
