Parallels
We thought we could survive under the blood red sun
Despite these parallels carved into our destinies.
How foolish were we
To think that our own destinies could be changed?
Or is that that we were simply
To afraid to recognize the choices we had to make?
Being the parallels that we are, we push away
When what we really want to do is to embrace
Or do we?
I sometimes feel as if we are only creating the illusion
Of this friendship because we are both isolated and introverted
Or is that what the definition of friendship is?
We can’t even move now,
That’s how much this apprehension and fear grips our hearts
But we like it; because problems are taken out of hands
And into the hands of destiny.
Or did we just create destiny too?
To fit our ideals and wants
To make us parallel or intersecting
To allow us to feel free and indecisive
To make us human.
