As they say...
This is, perhaps, the hardest and most painful decision that I have ever made.

First off, I would like to apologize for missing TONFA's fourth birthday (and perhaps I should have done that particular apology on the news post I made on the 14th, as TONFA's birthday was October 10th). You may have noticed that there has been a distinct lack of community-wide activities recently, and that is mostly my fault.

Now, let me explain a bit. My enjoyment of the Naruto series has been steadily decreasing for a number of years. It has gotten to the point that I have, on more than on occasion, described TONFA as a "badge". Similar to how a young child will shout "Mommy, Mommy! Look what I did!", I have paraded TONFA out as a badge of pride... and little else.

Honestly, I love this site. I love everyone on it. I just don't have the time, and more importantly, the enthusiasm needed to run it anymore. This is why the last few months have been so lacking, as well as why the NFA hasn't been updated since September 3rd.

On the note of the NFA, I intend to keep nominations open until December due to my own stupid self ignoring it. It's my fault that it looks so lacking in nominations, when I have an inbox full of them.

But back to what I was saying. It's this lack of enthusiasm that has brought me to a certain point these past two months. When I did manage to get some free time between my studies and work, I would find all sorts of reasons and excuses not to work on TONFA. It's at the point of not even wanting to open the administrative email because I know that there's so much that needs to be done.

To top it all off, aside from Dancer, I'm not even sure which of the moderators are even still with the site, let alone whether they want to continue to moderate. People come and go, it's natural. For evidence of this, I simply have to look at the profiles of the authors that I originally invited to TONFA to realize that most of them are long gone. In some cases, gone from the fandom all together. TONFA is, after all, four years old.

I want her to reach five.

But, and this is the important part, I won't be here.

This all brings me back to the decision that I first mentioned. I once thought that TONFA could hold my attention, even if Naruto no longer could. And while this was true for a time, it is no longer so.

I am stepping down as administrator and owner.

To this end, I am looking for someone who is willing to maintain TONFA's domain and server space. This includes paying the fees-- or setting up a donation system so the users can pay fees, or whatever the new Head Administrator feels like doing. If you are interested in being said new Head Administrator/Owner of TONFA, please contact me at my gmail account, krakatoayo. It's the most frequently checked. I'll explain to you the specifics of maintaining TONFA, and we'll see if you still want the "job".

Please know that I love you all very dearly, but there is only so long that one can sit on a growing fandom that one is no longer a part of.

Thank you all for four wonderful years.

TT_TT nooo!

Easy come easy go I'd always say. TONFA was starting to get a little off the top but it's still great. Sorry to hear your departure. One question though...what if no one takes the position? What happens to TONFA afterwards?

Im too poor for the position of ownership, But if your willing to admit another moderater Im willing to help.

There is the possibility of my continuing to own the site, but with other people being the ones to actually tend to the upkeep of it. In that case, TONFA would remain on my server, and would be funded through user donations, while an administrator and the moderators take care of the site.

The changing of the guard, eh? Well, good luck to you in whatever you decide to do next. I'm sorry to hear of your departure, but if this doesn't bring you joy anymore, than I totally understand your decision. Take care, and godspeed.

Aww, I'm sorry to hear you are leaving, but I understand. It would be no good for you to hang around where you aren't enjoying it anymore, eh.

I can't own, since I'm rather poor, moneywise, and have little knowledge when it comes to internet things, but I would love to help in anyway I can.

We'll miss you Priest. I hope whatever you decide to do next works out for you, and hopefuly, that someone as wise as you will take care of TONFA.

Take care.

Everyone on TONFA will miss you Priest and I hope you find something that keeps your interest. I'm way too poor with little knowledge of how to run a site, not to mention my laziness, but I hope whoever you pass the torch to will be at least half as good as you.

This is it, then. You had a really good run here, and if you feel like it's time to move on, go do what you have to do. I wish you the best of luck in all your future endeavors.

I have neither the capital nor the expertise to be an owner of a website such as this... in fact, I seriously doubt that I even qualify as admin material. I hope you can find a quaified person soon... there's bound to be one around here somewhere.

Well, as Edward Murrow would say, good night, and good luck.

awww, that sux. but have fun with whatever you decide to do next =)

That sucks Priest, but I understand why you've got to do that. Unfortunately, I am way too poor to pay for the site. Good luck with finding a solution.

I'm sad to hear about all this. I hope that someone will step up to the plate and take over. I would, but I don't have the money, the name, or skill to take over. The best of luck to you!

I can't take over as admin, but I could probably help whoever comes next.

I'm honestly surprised that Tonfa has survived this long; I lost a lot of interest in Naruto ages ago, staying on here only for the community and in hopes of finishing some of my fanfics. Tonfa's had a wonderful beginning, and hopefully will continue being fun for others with a new keeper.

There's no point spending time and money on something you personally aren't interested in, anyway. Good job starting a great site.

You know... this is really heartbreaking, I was just getting to know people on here, getting my friends to sign up, and then BAM! I read this. But, I'm glad to know you're being honest.
What you said in one of these replies that you posted, does that mean that even if you leave, the site will still be here?
I wanted to say this though... good luck with what comes next. I hope enjoy the rest of your time, and find something else that holds as much interest as this site once did.

Love ya,
Demon Kit
=^.^=

Thank you all for your kind words. They mean so much to me, and I doubt I could ever forget any of you or your kindness, despite my own inability to do all that I promised would. Yes Demon Kit, that does mean that the site will continue after I leave, just in the hands of someone who will hopefully be more enthusiastic about it than I have been these last few months :)

(for anyone wondering there are currently plans in the works to revive a fanfic site that I closed down to run TONFA.)

Ooh, I'm curious about those plans. Be sure to keep us informed about 'em!

I-I could hold the position, but when you step down, I'll miss you. I have been with Naruto forever. I love what you do with the site, and I could never replace you. You held on to TONFA for four years, and you did a great job with it. I will make sure it reaches to be five years old. ~Mokone Ookami

Aw, I'm glad that you've made the site though, so thanks! ^^ I guess maybe Naruto CANsometimes get boring to people after 4 years... Thanks again!

Thumper, technically speaking, I've been in the fandom for almost seven years now. TONFA's just been up and running for four of them.

To everyone who's offered their help in taking care of the site, I do have someone who will be head administrator now, but if you still want to help out, we can still talk about things that can be done.

I will be sticking around as a 'technical adviser', at least for awhile, so you haven't exactly seen the last of me (hence the username change) ;)

*bow down* well then...I guess..this is kinda like goodbye..b/c I haven't been around too much due to personal issues, but 4 years in website and other terms is a long time and i figure there have been good times and bad times in the 4 years also..

As some one with great respect for you, I tip my imaginary hat to you and wish you the best...

i would do it but i don't know how to

I haven't logged on often but as a field student of rural Australia everytime I hit an internet cafe, I found TONFA,I saved as much to my memory stick and this lovely site kept me sane.

Thus, now that I've found a home base for the next two years at least, I'd like to make an offer to help keep the site alive. If I could hear about the specific yearly fees, and perhaps a few other questions I think I could at least keep it going financially, a few things depending.

i have been gone for a while with stress and lack of any original or good fics but i return a few times and now im back to to stay so in a way i know how you feel but what will happen if you come back and want to run this site again. well Times May Change But Things Are Never Left Unsaid. sounds kind of random i know but hopefully you can understand it. well as the others have said i will of course miss you too. good luck though.

i may be newish but I can say it won't be the same without you

I cant help you owning it but im willing to be a moderater if needed. =D you can only hold on to something for so long. i think im speaking for everybody then i say that we will miss you!

Original Script by Rivka, current release to be found at Source Forge. TONFA is not affliated with any of the creators of Naruto, nor with Bandai.
